From the begining...

Although Rebel’s Custom Design wasn't even a thought when I was born, that is however, when it was conceived. My maternal grandfather was a finish carpenter, as was his father and the father before him. The father before that (my great, great, great grandfather) and his brothers built 90% of the covered bridges in Parke county, Indiana. Parke county is known as the covered bridge capital of the world and there are more covered bridges there per capita than any where else in the world. More than half of those bridges are still in use today! Maybe that’s why I am so comfortable guaranteeing my craftsmanship for a life time. On my father’s side of the family are several cabinet makers. So I guess it should be said I was destined to become a carpenter. My first toy tools where miniature carpenter tools. By the time I was nine I had become very proficient in the craft. By the time I was twelve I was expanding my knowledge to electrical and plumbing. By the time I was seventeen I built my first house. At the age of twenty three I ventured from Indiana to Chariton , Iowa to build a factory for Duke’s BBQ sauce. It was there I met my wife at the convenience store near the job site in Chariton . We got married in 1991 in the baptist church in Chariton . We settled in Indianola , Iowa and still live on the same farm today. In 1999 we founded Rebel’s Custom Design, Inc..

What a wonderful ride it has been!!!

The last nine years I have become as much a part of the community as one can be. I rarely ever leave the house without running into one or more of the many customers we’ve served and that always puts a smile in my heart. We, at Rebel’s Custom Design, all share the philosophy that we are lucky to do what we do! We have a passion for our craft and we love what we do! And the long journey, thus far, has taken us to many interesting and fun locations and we’ve met many interesting and fun people. Our customer base is over seven thousand strong!
